I'm not sure... I can measure one. Maybe

I think you could sell a few, they always get lost, I need a bag full of them, and the reproduction ones are not good

Just measured mine, looks to be 1" brass tubing, Steve!

Marvelous job on the Cyldon, mate!

Thanks Chuck!

One inch tubing isn't so easy to get hold of. Model shops don't stock it, not in the UK anyway. I'd encourage anyone to have a go at making a chimney though, its not so hard... if you can get the raw materials!

Hi, I wonder if you could help me. I have just acquired a Cyldon 13/3 without a chimney and only half of the safety valve. Do you know the height and diameter of the chimney, and also the height and diameter of the bullet shaped part of the safety valve? Thanks, Les Marsh.

Hello Les, and welcome to the forum! I made the chimney on my 13/3, so I can't be sure that the dimentions are exactly right, but I think they're near enough. The diameter is 3/4 inch or about 18mm. The bottom edge of the chimney is radiused fit the boiler, and the height of my chimney is 33mm or 1 & 5/16 inches from the top to the high point of the boiler. I have measured the safety valve on my 13/1 as that one is an original Cyldon part (the one on my 13/3 is homemade), and the cylindrical part projects 17mm above the hexagonal nut that screws into the boiler. Of the 17mm, 10mm is a plain cylinder on top of which is a 2mm recess followed by the bullet shaped top which is 5mm high. I hope that helps... if you need any more just ask.

Welcome Les. Stay around and talk toy steam. It would be great to see pics of your engine and your restoration.

A big Scottish welcome Les.

I also have a Cyldon 13-3.

I made a chimney to Steve's dimensions and it turned out fine.

Hope you enjoy your stay.
