Just like to add....

I cant pretend i did it all myself but i thank my grandad for machining me the t-peice the regulator and numerous other things that would have cost me quite a bit of money

Cheers MM, I didnt make the bits myself just put it together thats why it looks good. It sort of runs, still very stiff

Should get better the more you run it. Try running on air for a while (on blocks of course)

That should free everything up nicely

I ran it for about 20 mins on air. Then steam tested. Then ran for half an hour forwards and half a hour backwards. But didnt get time to steam test it

Not been able to run my sl3 on air yet but its getting better with time. Will have to get some pics of it on here. Paintwork looks in good nick Jim.

Hi Jim,

Great to see another SL1 restored to steam, and the water sight glass is certainly unique.

I thought you might appreciate the following photos of my Cheddar Iver coupled up to some Mamod stock, to give you an idea about your thoughts to regauging Mamod stock.







As you can see the Mamod stock is somewhat overpowered by the larger gauge of the Iver. I have some oversize G scale coaches which I intend to adjust to the same profile as the Iver.
