A Parken? Add another name to the Oz engine list. I like that one too, Chris.
Perfectly toy steam. Funny to see a firebox that's not black! Nice buy.
Is there a vid of it running? _________________ -Chuck

Thanks for your thoughts everyone, I suppose that before I even consider stripping it I need to find out whether I can match the paint particulalry an HT paint oforthe fire box. VHT paints have a couple of blue colurs that aren't normally kept by the autoshops, So I need to check those out.
Wallace, through the haze of age, I vaguely remember the Fordson blue & I reckon your spot on.
Chuck, I haven't steamed it yet only got it 2 days ago. Sorry, no video as I don't have a video camera and I'm not in a hurry to get one, as I'm still in the dark ages - on dial up, .
Cheers

For the base you won't need a bomb proof paint... Normal car paint baked does a good job for me! _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode
You could get a nice flatbase for that

Base and firebox are the same paint though MM |
Will the firebox need repainting? _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode

No it doesn't really, although there is an inkling of rust up the seam at the front. Main problem is that the base & fire box can't be seperated as they're tack welded together, .
Cheers

You could mask it off and just do the base? _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode

Good to see some extra pics of it Chris.
I remember ads on TV when we were kids that said "rust never sleeps". Given this I would probably go for a strip down and repaint if I could match the paint. If you live in a dry area and have a house that doesn't retain moisture (ours does and is a shocker for stuff rusting), then spot treatment might be a goer. |
