It's about midnight here and I just turned off the lathe, my neighbours must love me.
But.... It had to be done, what would my putt-putt boat be without boilers? I'm sure the neighbours will understand.
At the moment theż're simple hard soldered pot boilers. I want to test their performance first, before I add membranes.
(Why square holes? I only had square tubing lying around, if I bought round tubes I wouldn't be scratch building anymore. ) _________________ Paul |

Whoa! That is one fine looking vessel you got there Geoff! I wouldn't want to be in the pool with that pointy bow chasing me down.
Can't wait to hear that bladder pounding away. That is one nifty setup!
Well done Captain!

In keeping with the theme i set with last years event i'm entering a slightly larger boat in the classic category.
This design is nothing new and i believe that anyone can build a boat like this even if you don't think you have the skills, time or money. The only modification i made was to use a spare meths burner that i had from Dean in place of the candle as i wanted a cleaner/hotter flame, although it didn't make a huge different with speed.

The boat.
Good luck to all the other entrants. |
Well done- and thanks for not only your functioning entry but your words of encouragement to others to join in the fray..several before you have tried and not made the boat leave the dock!!

That sir is a spanking fine and brassy boat and the burner is superb...She does like the tub over the sink--a little more room to stretch her legs!!
