Thanks for the kind words guys .

But i`m sorry to say that i had a devil of a day that rapidly went from bad to worse , that made me think , my demons are catching up with me .
By the time i sorted things out , it was sundown .

Hopefully an early start can be made in the morning , wind permitting .

Will answer tech questions after sea trials are completed .

Boiler two failed.

All was hard soldered and I only needed to bend the tubes a little... One tube broke, I tried to fix it but it leaks. I'll now cut it in half and use it as the fuel tank.

The other boiler works fine and seems quite powerfull.

My entry:

Open
RMS Titanic

All aboard for an epic journey on the RMS Titanic.

One of the most famous ships in our history, she has spawned books and countless story tales. She has even made movie actors famous.

What the...!

The build:

Some M&M's

Start with bow and stern frames

Strike the hull!

Build boilers

Installation of the boilers

Frame/finish the hull

Add stacks, RC, rudder and finish detail

Ready for show

Sea trials (nice waterline of crud)

Video

Summary:

A very nice build! The boilers fired but are not very efficient.  My analysis concludes that the aluminum may be too thick for good compression. I didn't get to exercise the RC like I wanted to . My future plan is to replace the boilers with thinner aluminum and take it out on the lake this summer for further trials.

Enjoy! Gary

Although the shot of you holding my avatar in your arms is disconcerting

I was sure the stout cans were going to be the four stacks....I will have to go back and review  for more comments...

The spinning pop pop is great Greg, i might have to adapt one of my previous tealight boats just for fun.

I really like the Titanic and that is a very clever use of materials.

That was some nasty stuff, and to ingest that into the boilers wasn't a good idea either.

She only has 2 boilers. She leaked but did not sink. I'm built her along with the traditions of the real deal. Yes my stacks are fake, and real deal had a fake one too.
