I suppose so,
Thing is a servo doesnt have much movement. I did think about putting a servo on the cab roof with a larger sprocket driving a smaller one on the regulator with a chain.
This would work better becuase you get more turns from the small wheel as its driven by the big wheel _________________ www.steamyjim.piczo.com

That would explain the long handle.
You sure you dont mean Roundhouse Manual steam valve not gas regulator?
If you build a Roundhouse loco from a kit and then fit RC you end up with a spare manual regulator, I've got one lying around too. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

Does your regulator look like this?
This is the manual reg for steam from roundhouse, the gas is just a knob.
This is the RC regulator, it goes from full open to closed with less movement so a servo can do the full range.
This picture shows the RC reg and the round knob bhind it is the gas regulator.

No it aint it's called realism, you can always stick an extension on the handel. Once you've fitted the reg you find the correct setting and leave it there, is what I've found. |

Hmm as far as I know these are the standard Roundhouse regulators, of course mine is less than a year old so it could be an old style gas regulator from Roundhouse as I don't know much about anything earlier than a year or so ago from Roundhouse. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm
