|

After all our talk about Parkens over the last few days I checked my email and found a message I missed in my inbox from 12 days ago.
I'm sure you will find it most interesting.

The following form has been submitted from your website ozsteam:
--------------- Form Response ---------------
01 - Please enter your question or information in the box below = Further info on Parken Steam Engine:
Parken were not just a retailer, they were the manufacturer of the engine. I have commissioned them to manufacture more of these engines (the owner of Parken is my business partners uncle, and Parken is still the original family business). I am seeking expressions of interest from potential buyers of Parken steam engines, the more interest the larger the new production run of steam engines will be. Parken still have the original tooling and packaging templates and are very excited about making the engines again. I will gather the original history of the engines from and update you via this site. Please feel free to contact me. I look forward to your response.
Kind regards,Danny Hancock '
I have of course invited him to the forum as I'm guessing if they do make a new run of Parkens there would be a number of people interested here in buying one. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

That would be good news indeed, especially if they started doing spare parts for existing engines, I for one would love an original burner for mine plus an original box would be nice too. _________________ Les - Don't panic - it's your round next.

Excuse the ignorance of a continental european chap but could you show me what engine you are talking about ? I think it´s always a good idea to put a steam toy maker back in business but I have no clue which engine will be coming back.

Are these the guys out in Clayton Victoria?
I'd put a few in my shop but the old design looks pretty drab next to a Steam Co. , I am not sure it would appeal to anyone except the hard core collector. _________________ Classic Hobbies

I don't know, more people prefer the SE series of Mamod to the SP series so you could be pleasantly surprised. _________________ Les - Don't panic - it's your round next.

Thanks , Tony for showing me the engines.
I like plain looking engines with no frills at all and the shown ones are very plain but I admit that I like them .

My experience is that second attempts include changes removing the spirit and original charm so I wouldn't celebrate before seeing it. _________________ Et in Arcadia Ego |

Thanks Tony, interesting to see, I agree with Max,re the Steamco, versus the proposed Parken. In one way I hope it gets off the ground, that would mean two OZ manufacturers. On the other hand, it may lower the value of exisitng original engines.
BTW, the engine images, in Tony's post are of my engine, off his web site. It is in near mint condition, and I think an early production engine, as it has neither the Haussegger or the Parken decal.
Cheers
