fantastic news!!!! as roly pointed out ...i have the one from the recent ebay auction..... ive had heaps of new engines arrive here in last couple of days so im behind with posting   however!!! once i do my proposed vid i think there will be a rush to get one   and yes clinton and i are planning a "steamoff"   parkens versus steamco!!!   we think the parkens will win needless to say liz was so impressed with its power that she is parting with her se3.  the parkens engine is built SOLID!!! its compact and for a single cylinder has heaps of power ...... ive borrowed clintons "blue thunder" as this seems to create a benchmark that we all relate to.... it powers it with ease provided parkens stick to the original build i would buy a new one considering mine was made 1946.....49???  it out ranks a modern one and im still trying to find out why???   vids soon but im getting my empire #43 going today ...yesterday i finished my two "crescents" (ck) both in steam     my mec1 arrived two days ago along with another aussie icon toy (1946... so i hope to show the parkens driving a peterpan sewing machine ....both items were made in the same years and in australia.   im also glad that its now been confirmed that "parkens" was made in australia...... original tooling is evidence.

That is great news. I'd certainly be interested in one.

If it's reasonably priced I think it would appeal to many.

Thanks Tony, interesting to see, I agree with Max,re the Steamco, versus the proposed Parken. In one way I hope it gets off the ground, that would mean two OZ manufacturers.....

This is interesting news, and I hope they do have enough interest for a run of engines.  I do like the looks of Chris' engine
in the 'as new' colors.  Sometimes, simple and sweet is best when it comes to design.  Chris' does look sweet!

BTW, the engine images, in Tony's post are of my engine, off his web site. It is in near mint condition, and I think an early production engine, as it has neither the Haussegger or the Parken decal.

Thanks Chris,
I did mean to mention it was your engine, but got distracted.

First time i saw a Parken , i thought that its engine frame , cylinder and F/W arrangement is very similar to the Steamco STC-01 .
That me me wonder if there was some kind of family connection between the two brands .

I'll say!  They are just a gnat's hair from being identical!
Someone knew a good thing when they saw it.

It is great if a company from past times start up again, but i hope they will then produfe something more exciting and of higher end design and quality. I dont think we need another mamood/wilesco standard engine. If it is to be built in smaller series anyway i hope they take it all out and go all the way with the size and equipment. there are so many small engines to choose from, I think what the world needs are steam engines built huge, there are so few of those. That is just my opinion, and i mean to offend none. thankfully we all can aprechiate different things and still be good forum entusiasts
