Hello everyone!!
I thought you might all be interested in this
The Rivermead leisure centre in Reading is holding 'The big southern vintage toy fair' on Sunday 14th October.
This is always a big event with 200 tables selling vintage toys and collectables and always includes toy shop steam. Many examples in my collection came from this fair. Also there is a large exhibition of vintage toys including train layouts and meccano. I will also be attending with my pre-war Steam collection.
I hope some of you can attend. It's a great event and shoudn't be missed!!! _________________ You should buy a Marklin, their Great!! |

Yes, it is on the way to London from Bristol. Just north of the M4. _________________ Chris

How far is the Rivermead Centre from Reading Station Steamman? I might be able to come _________________ Si

Here are some directions taken from the flyer
By road
From M4 Junction 11, take A33 dual carriageway into centre of Reading and then follow brown leisure centre signs to Rivermead which is situated off the A4155 in caversham next to the River Thames.
From the north, take A4074 to caversham, Rivermead is situated 300 yards on right once you have crossed caversham bridge.
By Train
Rivermead is about 15 minutes walk from Reading station. leave station by covered overhead walkway, take lift to ground level. Then go left along Vastern Road to large roundabout, then follow brown signs.
Hope this helps!!!! _________________ You should buy a Marklin, their Great!! |

Not a long walk, but probably worth printing out a map. The station is on Station Hill.

If I go I will probably get the train. _________________ Chris

More thorough answer from steamman. I only claim to live in Reading so I don't have to mention Basingstoke. _________________ Chris

Hmm, I might be on a roller at Amberley that day. If not I will do my best to get there. Is there an entrance fee and what time does it open and close _________________ Si
