Id call it pre-production mock up of Golden Jubille loco (bit long, but thats what it is )
It doesnt work or anything. It doesnt even have a water gauge, the wheels dont turn, theres no burner etc
If i do take another one il get it done for you.
No i dont want to sell it.
Do you want a pic of a Mamod loco in bits? I may be able to take one soon if you want it _________________ Land Of Hope and Glory,

Brillient, that will be great if you can. Thanks.
I have found the line drawing for putting a loco together on a website today. If I get permission I will post these up as well. Having said that, they have probably already broken copyright by scanning them in and putting them on their site, so does that mean I can use them _________________ www.mamod-steam-railway.co.uk

I have the full instructions for the SL1K, plus the RW3, 4 ,5 & 6 kits.
Once I have loaded the software for my flatbed scanner onto my new computer (I lost the old scans when my previous computer died), and loaded Photoshop ( to adjust the exploded diagrams for the construction [currently A3 size]), I'll post them on the Forum.

Thanks for the offer Chris, yes please
I will need a new section of the website for loco related marketing and printed material as I'm getting a few bits and pieces together now.
So anyone else with , packaging, instructions, marketing and other printed material relating to the Mamod Railway range, please let me know.
Thanks

| does any one know if they built a pre production prototype that worked as I see no reason why it shouldn't. Also has any one seen a william work in the flesh? I imagine it should be pretty powerful. |

Ah, thanks for that Mamodman, so the one with the odd valve arrangement was presumably not released for sale.
On the topic of prototypes, I remember reading, I think on your website, that before the SL1 was released in 1980, there was another rare prototype released that did not do so well on the market. Have you a pic of this please - would make a good entry on my website if there was a pic available.

There is a picture of this loco in the bible, it's only in black and white though. I've seen one maybe two for sale on ebay over the past 3-4 years. I didn't save the pictures though and I don't know the wherabouts of even one |
I spoke today with Martin P Evans of MSS. He called the ex Mamod production manager whilst I was on the phone. This is the guy who managed the production of the locos from the start in the early 1980s. He assured me that there was no pre-SL1 release or prototype of a loco prior to the SL1, especially without a Mamod logo. He thought that I must be getting it mixed up with a SL1k.
There was apparently a hybrid version made by someone near that time and this could also explain the lack of a Mamod logo on the pic in the Bible MM.
However, seporate from all that, I have a bit of a potential scoop. I'm not going to give too much detail, other than to say I might be getting a pic of a 'Special Edition' Mamod Locomotive that was never released. There is only one in existance that was produced as an example, but the deal never went through. It is in a certain person's private collection and I am waiting further developments.
I will keep you posted

The really early loco was used at shows I'm lead to believe and around the factory to potential buyers/investers. Some were obviously sold as i've seen one or two on ebay. It wasn't green, more of a dark colour off the top of my head
I'll have to grab a picture of it out the bible _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode

That is the one!
I know it exists in some form because i've seen a couple on ebay. Look at the wheels and the lack of a backcab, and the little caption about it.
Not 100% sure when it was made, but it does say the very FIRST Mamod loco _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode
