Great job Atticman.

As Tony said, don't worry about the solder on the outside. That's nothing mate.

Yup, my blowtorch does that too. To get around it, heat it from the outside, still soldering inside

Great tip there Wallace- didnt think of that    

Im still on the learning point that thinks you need direct heat to melt the solder

nice job, at this rate its going to look brand new WAY before christmas!!  i really, really, really want a SE3 ive seen several in similar but not as bad condition without a chimney. how are you going to replace that? if its easy id be very inclinded to buy one like yours!!

Looking good.

I was never able to desolder the end cap on my own SE3.  No matter how much heat I put on it I just could not tap it off.

Maybe yours is a G&G Me3 which is silver soldered rather than soft soldered. MM could tell you.
