|
|
| Just looking at someone's video of a MM2 running a couple of tools and wondered - will my Minor 1 be able to run a complete workshop? I only have a grinder and hammer at the moment, but I was thinking of getting the polisher and press, and maybe even a fan and/or a saw - and of course a lineshaft to run them. Or will I better off just running one tool at a time? |

Very much doubt a little Minor 1 could run a full workshop. Techincally they were only designed to run one tool, maybe 2 at a push . It would struggle! it would 100% stall running that press, you can try though
Have you considered a bigger Mamod engine?
Minor 2 possibly
SE1/SE2 would definatly do it!
SE3 would wipe the floor with it
that's my suggestion, a bigger engine, or run one at a time like you said! _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode

Ah, this is why I joined this forum! Thank you
Ho hum, one at a time it will have to be. For a while anyway, until I can afford something bigger (and sneak it into the house without the OH saying "How much did you pay for that!" Still, means I won't need a lineshaft anytime soon either ... |

| MM1s just dont have the torque or inertia to turn much more than one tool. You need a heavier flywheel for more tools. |

By all means try but don't be dissapointed if it doesn't work! _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode

no we're not Jimbo but the MM1 is not designed to do that sort of work. It has a very small piston and lightweight flywheel. _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode

Well, we ran it yesterday with just the grinder, and that seemed to be enough really. So the rest of the tools will have to wait until I have a bigger engine I took some pics with my phone, I'll try and get them up tomorrow. |

Thought it might be, it would really struggle with the press! _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode
