A vast improvement to what you started with, well done. _________________ Les - Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives.

Great job Erik
I would definately use some silicone on the sight glass though to make sure it seals first time _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode

I used the rubber ring that came with it to put it back in, I wonder if is's going to be steam tight. I'm a bit worried about the two pop rivets that wend in the back (behing the chimney), i'm not sure if they're steam tight either, have to test that some day...
I'm now almost done:
The reverse lever didn't work unfortunately, it was to big> I'll try to make a new one this weekend. All that's to be done after that is getting a new burner, and than it's finaly done _________________ My site: www.steam-toys.com

Are the rivets you've used for the sight glass 'blind'?? They need to be steam tight and are usually made of copper.
It's looking good _________________ Chuff chuff!! |

Cracking job Erik! but yep, you will need some copper rivets for anything that needs to be steam tight.
Shouldn't be too hard to replace them after such a great job _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode

When I refurbish my Mamod loco boilers this is what I do, and in fact checking back I suggested it at the top of Page 3 of this posting. |
Yes that is what I did on my SP4 replaced the rear rivets with brass bolts and soldered them inside the boiler.
Looking good Erikl so when is the big steaming? _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

The burner for this engine is on it's way now, after that I only need to reproduce a reverse lever (the ones I made didn't fit )
and than I got to steam it some day
I*'m a bit afraid that the chrome paint will not last, and I'm also not that sure my soldering work was good, but I'm going to steam it, I promise that's what steam engines are for, isn't it?
But first it will have to look pretty on a shelf for just a little longer _________________ My site: www.steam-toys.com
