| Quite a bit of work to do there, but I'm sure it'll be worth it. I'd certainly like to see it going! |

I have a Bing Loco`here at home, a little run down but repairable
as far as I can see. The Burner on this one is a Three Wick Burner
and no Flywheel.

If you don't want that Bing and would like to sell it send me a PM and I will give you my email address and I'm sure we can come to some sort of deal.
Is yours the regular type with two oscillating cylinders rather than one with a flywheel? _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

She has one Cylinder in the Cabin, I guess the Flywheel has done
a runner over the Years, I still have the Instruction Booklet {4 pages}
which puts her in 1900 Circa. {Dampt- Lokomotive} with the
"GB"
N
"Bavaria" Badge on It.

Aparently with these locos it was quiet common after derailment for the meths to spill out and catch fire and with the flywheel been make from cast lead it quickly became a puddle on the floor. Maybe that is what happened to yours.
Let me know if you want to sell it. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

I would be interested in a small Bing loco. Does it have much pulling power for it's size? Is it suitable for garden railway use?
And by the way, where did you buy your Bing loco? _________________ [img]C:\Documents and Settings\Kaleb\My Documents\My Pictures\P7102565.jpg[\img]

I have 3 Bing locos, 2 working, 1 not.
Two I got off ebay, one from a member of this forum.
Depending on the model it will haul between 2 and four carriages.
I run mine on Linel track but they will also run on Hornby track or other brass 'O' gauge track that has a fairly high profile.
I don't think it would run on Peco track but I could be wrong as I've never tried.
They are fine to run on garden railways as long as you remember most are pushing 80 years or older and treat them with care.
If you just want a live steam loco to run in a garden railway a Mamod would be the best one to start with as they are easier to get and much cheaper and have better pulling power. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm
