interesting piece of info about fosters. they made tanks for ww1 aswel as traction engines. the way to tell a foster made after ww1, is on the name band round the smokebox, there is a small tank on there along with saying fosters. learnt that from "steam giants" free with mays old glory. |

WOW! What a crackin` day!
We arrived about 10.15.
Almost immediately met James...... "Heyup ma duck!" (He loves that), then Mark, who was minding the table.
I`d brought along a few engines he might like to see, so he made a bit of space for them.
After a chat, I showed him how the hot air engine worked, and left him operate it.
I met Titan & DLR who were running the railway display
Then off outside to see the stationaries & other displays.
I especially liked this one... So much happening in every corner....
A conducted tour of the museum by James allowed us time to talk, and to get to know each other better.
During the day a nice young lady gave me a brass plaque!
Seems I was an exhibitor!
All too soon it was time to leave.
Another lovely show, with not enough hours in the day to fully appreciate it all. (Always the same, innit.....) _________________ David.

Some people have all the fun
As I sit in my black hole, void of steam. Still, it inspires me to get my engines out & organize my own private STIA's
Glad you all had such a fine day & thanks for the photos! |
