It appears that Chas has changed his website template.

Although I think he needs to change it again seeing as half of the page has been chopped off

Oh, and to get rid of that annoying music

That is a real good example of what NOT to do when designing a web site. I bet he loses a lot of business because of that.

I don't have a problem with his music, I just switch the speakers off when I visit his site.

i know a way of stopping it

at the very bottom of each page there should be a small player

just click pause or stop on it and it stops

problem is it starts again when you click on a different page

If you use Firefox and Adblocker Plus then add the following to block the music:

http://www.chasteam.com/*.mid

Or if you hate music on all webpages then block:  http://*/*.mid

I'm sure that music (and the new website "design") is driving away lots of customers.

This is actually his 2nd website update in recent months. With Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2, and Internet Explorer 7 with Security set to Medium - High, I get the Internet Explorer Information Bar popping up when I visit his site, and so do not load the music. As Les has said just switch off your speakers.

Chas has come in for a lot of criticism on this Forum, but he has the best gaskets available for the old style Mamod locos - far superior to the ones supplied by Forest Classics, PPS or MSS. However our overseas Forum members have to watch out for his high postage costs (get a UK member to get your items from Chas and post on at actual cost).

THis is not criticism unless it is helpful criticism. His business would improve if the web page went to a simpler approach. Not only could it save him money, it could make him money.
