| When is a Bowman not a Bowman?????? |
When it is a Hobbies Lion.
Atticman (Tom) sent me a copy of this advert confirming that my Bowman E101 is in fact a Hobbies Lion.
(advert courtesy of the Bowman Circle)
It shows the oiler bracket and the engine frame support are the same.

The history of some of these engines and makers is simply amazing.
As I learn more about the hobby, (More every day.) it becomes apparent that makers would try every outlet as a potential profit maker.
Isn't it shame that most of these names that mean so much to us in the hobby, have simply disappeared along with our manufacturing heritage.
Great post Les. |

Nice engine! |

Wow, thats great Les
It will have to be a great selling point if you ever decide to sell it. The 101's are already expensive, I'd hate to estimate what this one is worth now
Does this mean that you still need to get a 101 for the collection, now that you have discovered that this engine is actually a "Lion" ? |

I dread to think what it is worth, not that I am selling it and no I do not need to replace it as I am lucky enough to have a M101 as well. |

Interesting indeed.
I take it that its the oiler bracket that identifies it as a Hobbies kit? |
