im thinkin of setting up a steam version of ebay wots ur thoughts,could link it to ur site/forum if u want,and the charges would be £2 max and it goes in a kity for a day out for us all,to a steam fair?

it would be tough to compete with the worldwide reach and incredible variety of engines that make their way to eBay, but heck, you won't know unless you try.

to get the whole forum to a fair would cost thousands od pounds

we already have a forum meet up in February at the STIA

Also, I for one would use eBay, as that would be the one that majority of the population of the world use!

yea i supose,i never put much thought into it,just a bit of a scripter and thinking of ways to enhance the steam world,back to the drawing board :/

Don't be afraid to keep the ideas coming mate.

You just might hit on a cracker that no one has come up with yet.

New ideas and thoughts are what keeps our forum fresh and alive,

It would be an interesting project to try and make work. But ebay works and I think people would keep using to give themselves a wider audience for selling to.

I think that if you want to see whether you could do it, just for the learning experience then try and see if you can put the code together. But I wouldn't make it live to the public to use as then you would be up against all sort of liability issues.
