Due to my condition getting worse and typing getting harder I want to gauge interest in the Midnight Runners series of reviews and technical threads.  As an example the Lubrication special took over 4 hrs to type,  then it had to be edited etc and I dont wnt to do another if the interest is not there.

I am sorry to read your condition is getting worse.

I do enjoy all your posts including the midnight runner series.

Your patience and depth of observation always amazes me, and your results are genuinely interesting.

However, this is a hobby to be enjoyed, not endured, either for yourself or others.

If it is becoming not enjoyable for whatever reason, stop.

I do not know what your condition is, but I do hope things improve for you soon.

Kindest regards

I replied no, purely on the basis that your well-being is of prime importance.

Well I voted yes!! as I do like doing them.  There is just so much I want to do, and it all takes time, especially now, so I am prioritising.  If there is some interest I will continue as I already have the pics for at least three more.

100% yes from me as your threads are very informative and really helpful to not only new comers but the oils and techniques must also be useful to us oldies

I will take that as a yes then.

It takes more than pain to interfere with my well being, I just wish I could sit down!  I might see if I can raise the laptop up so I can get on it as typing on this tablet is driving me nuts!

I know I can always depend on your support Phil.  I just underestimated the subject area by a mile.  What I thought would be a simple task has turned out to be much more involved then I thought but its proving to be well worthwhile especially when I get an engine that wont run to eventually run on a tea light candle.

Andy I'm mixed to this question, yes I enjoy reading your series, and findings, and is always informative. But the no aspect is that you should not continue if its become a burden on yourself, as said above the enjoyment of steaming the engine is more to a personal gain/gratification than to spend hours trying to relay that to us. The hobby is after all a hobby, something that should be enjoyed, and not a burden.

I am still amazed by your findings, and your run times on the engines, especially the mamods, that was just jaw dropping, an hours run on one fill   Worthy investment in time in my eyes. But not at the cost of your health!!! look after no.1 mate

Wow I was only expecting a couple of yeses.  Thats ok then we will carry on but there are loads to come!!!  There is also part 2 of the lubrication special - I have stripped and cleaned all the old oil off my mamod/Wilesco workshop and treated everything with tri flow!  It wil be interesting to see what happens!

The plain bearings on my D12 are next in line!

Engine wise there will be steam and some surprises!

Andy, like others I enjoy your threads & posts, however, please don't feel you have to do it. To have a diversion, like our hobby, is great (I know how you feel, but not for the same reasons), but you need to conserve yourself, and not let your interests, interfere to the extent where it conflicts with your health.

All the best

Cheers

That is the beauty of it Chris I dont feel I have to do it.  There are other things I do as well so I will stop doing some of that instead.  Knowing that they are being read and enjoyed by more than 2 people really does make it worthwhile.  It beats vegetating and feeling sorry for myself any day of the week - that would kill me off!
