Hello everyone, wondering if anyone has a roof box locally to me I could borrow for next week happy to drive a few miles to collect and drop back off

We want to take the kids for a holiday camping, but the 7 seater is pretty full with kids, so not much room for gear. Spending 100+ on a Halfords one for a few days seems false economy since we wont be more than an hour from home.

Look on ebay/gumtree perhaps. Even if you just buy it for the week you need it and sell it on after.

Not much help, but I was looking and looking for a used one with no luck. Went to a sporting goods store and found a cheaper/discontinued one, bought it, and the next day I see a free one on craigslist.

Nope not a lot of help but thanks anyway, as this sounds just like my kinda luck, thanks for letting me know I'm not alone

If you do end up buying one, go for the deepest/tallest one you can get, they don't really hold much otherwise.

Hopefully you're a bit taller than me, mine is on a mini van and I use a ladder at home to load it, but when I get to the place we're staying I have to climb up onto the roof.

Vikki has seen these roof bags that are fairly cheap. But I'm not a fan of most of them as I don't fancy dents all over my roof. They strap down using the roof rails and roof bars. But just sit on the metal of your roof. So you'll end up with either a large dish in the roof or the roof caving in on you! Like I said not a fan of either of those possibilities

Well Jon now you mention ROOF BAGS my brother bought one earlier in the year and while we were at their place he got it ready to on Holiday and Yes it attaches to the original roof bars but he put hell of a lot in it including a wheelchair and it did touch the roof or sag at all.
