I may be able to get hold of several of these:
They are O gauge and about the same height and width as mamod rolling stock, but with the advantage of being much lighter - you can probably haul two of these for every one mamod coach so long trains become a possibility!
I already have some that I use for my freight train and they seem to run fine behind my loco. The only issue is perhaps the couplings are not compatible, but it does not take much effort to change them.
So if anyone can tell me how much they would be prepared to pay for something like this it might give me an idea if it is worth while buying them and selling them on!!! _________________ It's a Mamod Jim, but not as we know it!

Don't worry, I'm not expecting anyone to commit just now, I am just testing the water, I might just be tempted to buy them and then flog them on e-bay anyway! _________________ It's a Mamod Jim, but not as we know it!

Seriously though, I would hope to be able to offer them cheap on the forum first (although it does depend on what price i can negotiate, I don't want to make a loss!!!), then what does not sell goes on e-bay! _________________ It's a Mamod Jim, but not as we know it!

I've decided to scratch build my rolling stock.
Once my loco is finished it will of cost somewhere near 700 pounds and I don't want to put plastic rolling stock behind it.
I already know which carage I want to build for my first attempt, at my old work in the Lobby they have carrage number 1 from the Western Australian Government Railways fully restored as it was in the 1890s.
I just need to get round and take lots of photos and measurements but no rush as my loco won't be finished for another 5 to 6 months. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

Well I have bitten the bullet and bought them.
They are being sent to me from Germany, so it might be a week or two before I get my hands on them.
The haul includes 6 coaches of varying colours,
10 off various wagons,
1 diesel loco (which I will probably keep for myself and convert to battery power)
and 3 'steam' loco's - but before you get too exited they are plastic and electric!
If this little lot sells well I will see if I can get some more.
I might also have a look at making a 'converter' wagon, that is one with mamod compatible buffers and drawgear on one end, thus enabling the easy haulage of a rake of these.
All profits (if any) of course going to offset the costs of building the portable layout! _________________ It's a Mamod Jim, but not as we know it!

I can certainly understand that! In any case, this stock is more mamod size, and as your loco is a fair bit bigger it would look decidedly odd! _________________ It's a Mamod Jim, but not as we know it!

Right, after a little bit of a break I am selling this stuff on e-bay again, I have quite a selection available - check it out here:

Blatant plug I know, but I hope it is of interest as this stuff does seem to go with Mamods quite well - apart from the couplings that is! _________________ It's a Mamod Jim, but not as we know it!
