Just been reading on your website about the boiler failure on Idris, after uprating the safety valve.

Would be interesting to read about this on our Locomotive Forum, as several owners have these uprated safety valves and have found probably like yourself that you can wind in the valve to up the pressure setting. However yours is the first that I've read causing a boiler failure, which you say has blown off the steam dome and cracked the regulator. You say it was 11 PSI, but it must have been more than that as the standard Mamod safety valve is set for approximately 14.7 PSI, and it is usually the sight glass plastic that breaks on these first.

Look forward to your posting on this failure.
