I am from Switzerland. 22 Years old, mecanical engineering student at the ETH Zurich and contaminated with the steam virus
Someone wrote a comment to one of my youtube-videos and he asked me to com to this forum.
So i thought i'd come round to say hello and show you some of my creations.
That was you Reid, right?
I basically build my steam engines by myself, also most of the fittings except the pressure gauge.
So, lets start with the pictures...
oh, just one thing: If my kind of articulating seems rude to anyone, let me know about; of course its not at all what i want it to be and its rather because i am not that good in english language

Hi Florian and a big Scottish welcome to our forum.
You'll find it very friendly here and we relish any tips and experience we can gain to share with our members.
We all are suffering from that same steam disease so you are in good company.

Oh, there is a question: In what category do i best start a topic about steam engines (with pictures)? They are not built in a plant up to now, and they are not going to work in a steam launch.

If you just want to post pictures of your engines 'Collections and pics' would be fine.
But if you want to go into detail on how you built them and give tips or hints to other home builder then

If they are home builds they could go in here.
If I am wrong someone will let you know.

Okey.... these are homebuilts..
But maybe it would be good to create a new category for steam engines of any kind? (homebuilts and also purchased ones) The other steam forums i know always have a seperate category. |
