Bolts needed! Although having said that the pulley seems a snug fit as it is. I don't know how, but the shaft had slipped so that the pulley was on the other end of it. Needless to say I had to clamp it in a vice and whack it with a hammer
This is all that remains of the original safety valve. The other part can be heard to rattle around in the boiler
The steam pipe needs resoldering into place, it just fell out when it arrived Some assistance will be needed for this at a later date... _________________ Si

I bet this one gets running in little to no time. Surly someone knows the threads.
Does someone make a spare Safety Valve? _________________ Your life is an occasion...Rise to it |

A costly Safety Valve if that is all one needed. _________________ Your life is an occasion...Rise to it |

Well done Si, must be a Southerners trait, cos your restorations are almost carried out at as fast a pace as mine
What part of the SV is in the boiler?
I dont think they are that hard to make- me Dad has made a couple, but hes a bit poorly and I cant find time to work his lathe. |

I think it must be the 'stem' and spring...

I think the bolts missing off the pulleys are the same size as Meccano, and there is usually someone at Tilford selling Meccano. _________________ Les - Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives.

Some of my pulleys are marked Meccano, and I too am hoping someone is selling Meccano, as I might be able to pick up a large gear as a temporary replacement for my 158. _________________ Les - Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives.

I have tried the Meccano bolts in the pullies Les, it does indeed fit but it fouls the engine bracket I may file a bit off of the head...
Although, I have just screwed in one of the bolts from 'Victor' into the gear and it fits
Now just to solder the steam pipe to the port block and find a suitable safety valve _________________ Si

They might have some pulleys with grub screws. _________________ Les - Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives.

Or you could cut the head of a bolt and then cut a slot into one end of the threaded part. _________________ Les - Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives.
