I'm just about to put most of my Mamod locos, carriages and track up for sale.

Amomgst those will be a Pricess of Wales, what I can't find is a limited edition number on it, only a sticker on the inside of the back of the cabin stating the it is a limited edition..  Were numbers stamped  on theses engine or only were they only numbered on the certificate.  Unfirtunately I bought this one second hand (only fired a couple of times, as the pipe from the steam dome is hardly marked and there is no burning to any of the paint work),  and no certificate was provided with it.

Your advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

They weren't marked with the number chris, I think they had a bit of card (minus the number) in the front of the box saying the same thing as the sticker does. The bible said 150 were made, while others disagree...

Last one made £300 should fetch a good price!

Good luck with the auction

Actually the bible says that 250 were made, plus another 250 Princess of Wales Railway sets. Mamodevon confirms that 500 were made, however the appearance of the railway sets has been placed in doubt recently, see this posting - http://modelsteam.myfreeforum.org...amp;highlight=prince&start=15

The limited edition numbers were on the SL6 Mamod Golden Jubilee edition, with a numbered plaque under the cab on the chassis sideplate.

Sorry to hear you are selling your Mamod locos Chris, as it is getting a bit quiet in the Locomotives Forum with other members selling up, and we've had to branch out to IP Engineering locos which are not steam powered!

Are you going to sell the 3rd Mamod from the left in your signature photo, which looks like a Mamod 'Queen's Golden Jubilee' Limited Edition. I could be interested for the right price.

Thanks for the information MM & Chris.

Re the Jubilee loco Chris, not selling at the moment, it's never been fired so MIB, dont want to loose too much money on it.

Cheers

Chris
