Thanks MM, have also learnt by my green base Bowman not mixing well with meths and have now got some clear laquer ,
would that red do for the tatty flatbase with the disc crank (SE1) and the brass firebox (where the paints fallen off) I showed you at STIA, or are the older flatbases different colour? |

Oh yeah I remember that, James has an SE1 that is about the same red as the later models, should do ok  _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode
You could get a nice flatbase for that

Good to report some progress on this one, have sorted the dent out, and am slowly respraying.
Irritatingly the solder on the whisle wasnt strong and its come off, so the end cap will now need unsoldering .

Wouldnt tolerate my puny muscles MM,
put penetrating oil round it and gave it a twist. No girthy muscles here, this is Gloucestershire
Just goes to prove it werent a G&G silver soldered one  |
