HI,

Just dug out my old MM2 I got off ebay yonks ago! It has had all its paint stripped ( not my doing) and now requires its baseplate and fire box repainting. Any volunteers? Dont feel up to it as I have never done this thing before. PM me or reply if you will, pics availible.

(sorry about the dodgy spelling chaps!!)

Welcome to the forum.

I would have a go yourself, its more satisfying, theres plenty of advice here, and if it goes wrong you can always strip it off and start again

You wont be the first to do that

welcome to the forum. have a go at repainting. buy heat resisting paint only . use paint stripper to remove the old paint if its in a bad way or you can paint over the old paint by rubbing it down with steel wool. new decals are available so just remove the old unless you desire to keep the original ,then you would need to protect them. use a petroleum type of grease to "mask" copper pipes ect. and clean it off when the paint is dry.

i just did my MM1, came up really well, like someone said before if you make a mistake just strip it and try again. just think, you'll get valuable experience for future purchases/restorations

1st things first. Where do I get some heat resistant paint ie BBQ stuff right...

For the black paint on the firebox I would recommend using VHT brand paint.
The brake caliper paint is best but engine enamel will do.
Try your local auto shops for it.

As for the other colours have a look at this thread in the reference library.
