If only I had half as much patience as you Alun

Thanks guys for all your kind words!
Have no fear as Sovereign is still being built. At the moment I am concentrating of building the generator for the front. I managed to find a 25mm diametre 12v Stepper Motor and successfully hooked it up to two bridge rectifiers. It quite easily makes a three volt white LED burn brightly at about 400 rpm! Considering I will be taking the power from the outside of the flywheel and transfering it via steel band to the Stepper with a 12mm pulley, Sovereign should easily be able to light her self up at a moderate speed.
Other projects are taking priority at the moment such as:
Building bits for the 3.5" 'Virginia'
Refurbishing the TE1Ak to 'good as new' status
Designing possibility of 'Sekret Project - CFML'
Building from scratch a SM32 tender loco as a friend for Sir Rillian (thread coming soon)
Having some sort of Social life
Organising a friends Stag Night
Working
Sleeping
Spending valuable time with my partner and her cats
Eating FOOD
You get the idea
At some point I'll update this bit properly, most likely after the generator has been fitted.
Stay tuned! _________________ Worrying the populace since '82' |

I am very new around here SyrtisM...I just finally read all 17 pages --Wow,, WOW ...WOW WOW
Great tenacity , imagination end effort... it is funny as a quick aside and in addition to the great creation you built..
Way back there ( when you didn't even own a drill)...you acquired a lathe..... and just set it up in your bedroom....... and taught yourself how to use it.... .......and make small detailed parts......... what a huge small thing that was!!
Keeping me way humble-- You will look back on this in 30 years and people will still say WOW!! And you will still be proud!
Well played! _________________ regards,

This is a great thread! Great Attitude too, think of a project and further your skills and learn how to use the tools to complete the project as you work through it too!
It's going to be a totally unique mamod when it's finished and will be a real looker, especially with that outlined lining on the blue paint along with all the brasswork and those yellow wheels too.
Great Stuff! |
