more trouble than its worth really isn't it.

its a shame if you could add the upgrade easily I would have bought 1, I had plans to cut a small doorway in the back of the cab and add a tender to make it look like 1 of the England locos on the ffestiniog.

You could always buy some of the saddletank parts from pps steam models and convert a side tank. Wouldn't take too much work, and you could keep the whistle fitting for fitting the regulator, or just buy a £20 boiler and replace the saddletank one, notch the cab for the regulator and ditch the steam dome.

Not sure if the saddletank bodywork is available as spare parts. Certainly it is not available on Mamodevon's new online shop - http://www.dream-steam.com/standard_parts.html

And unless you got a side tank loco very cheap, you would be better off getting the saddle tank loco, and modifying that instead.

With the exception of the boiler modification & repairs, the rest is just simply drilling out rivets & replacing with 6BA cheesehead screws & nuts. It would all depend on how long a steam pipe MSS fitted - certainly the one that was fitted on my Saddle Tank loco was too short, and would have never worked properly (being too short inside the steam chest nut, it was just draining out the boiling water from the boiler when the steam regulator was opened).

Now if MSS was to release this saddle tank loco as a kit, like their side tank locos, then it would present a better option. I'll suggest that to Alan (Mamodevon), as he is now an MSS sales outlet.

My dad bought a Roundhouse Loco, they put the wrong house number on the parcel, it was delivered to the wrong address (a few houses down) and then went back to the supplier.

It was then delivered again...still to the wrong address but my dad saw the courier and had a word - he saw the address was crossed out and it had the correct one lightly penned in underneath!

He didn't fancy a £900 quid loco going up and down the country again!

your railway cant be that well known then if your neighbors didnt make the connection between a large model engine and your garden railway.

wondering whem my neighbors will notice of course when they do Ill have to line the garden with landmines.

to keep them from nicking it.
