Hi again, see if you can find VHT brand over there, they make a glossy HT as well as the brake and caliper paint.  However, the gloss black HT paint will not stand up to as high a temperature as the Brake and caliper paint.

Good luck

Cheers

Chris

Hi and welcome to the forum.  VHT brand of brake and caliper paint seems to be a forum favorite for fireboxes.  It does come in semi gloss and a tougher to find glossy version which I know other members have found in the UK.

I live in the US and had trouble finding glossy, but finally did...can in my hand is labeled:

VHT engine enamel
up to 550 deg. F (288 deg C) Drive Train Paint
Chemical Resistant
Gloss Black
Product Number SP-124

Maybe a check of their website would give you local dealers...I buy mine from an auto parts store.

Good luck,
Roger

John, I found VHT semi-gloss black at Autozone and glossy black at Reilly Auto parts (new store in my area).  The glossy stuff is not rated as high on the heat scale, but I think plenty high enough.

That’s such a weird coincidence!

I have spent 4 months researching a good Black Gloss VHT paint to use in my Bowman E101 firebox housing.

Finally at lunch time today I ordered a can of VHT Black Gloss Calliper paint that goes to 900°F and is easy to cure even on a BBQ it seems.

I ordered from Rally design and now I see its also been recommended to you earlier in this string by Atticman. He is spot on I recon it’s the best you are going to get in the UK anyway.

http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=7290

These guys also stock it but are out of stock at the moment, but they have a very good discription with instructions on curing etc. so take a look.
