Just bringing this back just in case any of our new members maybe able to help, or even if anyone else has found a gear and they are not using it.
Large Bowman gear wanted to fit a Bowman M158.

I agree completely with that.
Still haven't managed to figure out the thread size of the top half of the whistles from Renown engines. Its really hard to work out the TPI when you only have 4 turns of a thread. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

Is this the same size as the Bowman 101 gear?
If so I've got one of those somewhere which was mistakingly bought for a Bowman M135. |

No it smaller than the 101 gear but it is the same size as a 135 gear.
Thanks all the same. _________________ Les - Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives.

No problem Les. When you said Large gear I took this to mean larger than the M135 gear. I had no luck when I asked for the same gear for my M135.
I've not got time to waste doing a fruitless search of the Forum, but was it not suggested that one of the Meccano gears may be a suitable replacement? |

It would be but as I am in no real hurry I can wait for the right one. _________________ Les - Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives.

The Bowman cog is bigger than the nearest Meccano size, 23A, so the small small gear wheel on the crankshaft would need to be replaced with slightly larger Meccano one too.
And in case anyone's interested, my thread about making one is here:
