|
|
Sometime last year after I got my prewar SE3 I asked Mamodfan to make me a new chimney for the engine as the old one had been cut at an angle.
After a couple of attempts Ian came up with this which is identical to the one on my prewar SE4,
My engine was also missing the handle off the whistle, so when MF said he was going to make some, I jumped at the chance.
The original burner that came with the engine had been sandblasted and had more holes in it than a sieve. As I wanted to run it I also got MF to make me a new 4 wick burner, which I'm very happy with.
Well done Ian.
All I have to do now is to find a way of aging the chimney so it looks the same as the rest of the brass opn the engine,
Cheers

MF has certainly helped with those parts.
You could send the engine here if you want the Chimney sorted. The salt air will fix that
Seriously though, give it a while and it will look the same. My homemade SE3 burner is 2yr old and blends in with the rest of the engine _________________

Those parts really help to finish it off, how are you going to age the chimney? _________________ Les - Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives.

Thats what I love about this forum. There are so many people here that have the ability to make parts for different engines and with us all combined we can cover nearly all engines.
Looks great Chris and nice work MF. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm
