As we've posted above, Millie's slow running will improve with the running in process, and allow you to pull those tippers at a prototypical speed. I trust the damage is easily repaired.

Are the couplings on the tippers at a compatible height to your centre buffer coupling on the Millie, or do you need to use a longer piece of chain to stop the first wagon being pulled up?

Have you got a fairly robust wagon that you can put a block of something in it to try to keep the loco in check, enough to get a reasonably slow run, so it runs on the straights but maybe binds up a bit on the corners to slow it a little.

Shame to see the damage done to those little tippers :S

yes I usually run it with 2 LGB coaches that slow it down but I thought Id give the tippers a try.

and dont worry they are back together now.

You could certain think about adding a goods yard to the layout, somewhere to unload all that slate and transport it off to somewhere else.

Pauly's parents watch out! That inner-grass space is being filled.

We all saw that one happening...there's going to be a little more ballast everyday and a little less grass! Soon it'll have a whole scale version of a slate quarry in there!
