I won a SE3 on Ebay and the Seller is now reluctant to tell me how much shipping is. The auction showed free shipping, but in pale green print atr the bottom of the auction, is a note that he "doesnt mark up shipping and packaging" ( any packaging is markup for me as one can get free boxes ) I have sent him emails and all I have heard from him is that he wants to use an expensive courier and pay to have it packed. Free shipping will end up costing the price of the engine I fear.

John I saw that thread. It was the Se3 wasn't it?

Now that sellers cannot leave neg or neutral, you could possibly make a complaint to ebay, saying the postage is marked free. I know the pale green says otherwise, but I am sure ebay should find in favour, as the contradicition of free post compared to his description is easily overlooked.

I'd make this complaint only for the fact he will not ship at a cheaper price.

I can't see anything in his favour. Afterall, you could be real mean, but fair, and demand that he send it for free

Supposedly the item has shipped and the fellow left good feedback, he only has a 4 feedback rating ands I think that instead, I will write him a short note and explain that he didnt do it properly so he can avoid this again. I think it is inexperience in this instance. I paid $15 after a bit of discussion so it could have been worse, but it should have cost $10 using the Postal Service, instead he is losing a bit of money ( about $5 ) on his shipping

... if postage he demands is too outrageous, I'd step back from the whole deal. If he then makes trouble with a non-payment strike with ebay, you could argue that he fooled you with the free shipment offer.
Happend to me twice, and all was settled peacefully.
