Bit of a long shot!

I use an mdf sub-base on the bed of my CNC machine - I'm after some nylon as it's much more stable than MDF, and I can resurface it, put screws into, get cutting oil on it and water, without it ballooning allover!

Only probs is it's expensive to buy, just wondered if he have anyone with access to off-cuts of the stuff and could send me a couple of bits for the price of a few pints and postage? I need enough to get two pieces 230 x 310mm, ideally 12mm so it's long enough to take screws.

Here's hoping!

Alan

Alan,

Don't know if it's the right stuff, but there is a white nylon like material sold as a kitchen cutting board.  We have one about 10 inches x 14 inches.  Perhaps two such things would work for you?  It is about 3/8 inch thick and very durable stuff.  They sell fairly inexpensively in kitchenware depts. of bigger stores.

cheers,
Roger
