For the meat.
That is major illegal over here. Nearly all of our sea turtles are endangered and protected.
The locals still poach them of course. Shame, as I have had many great diving interactions with Hawksbill Turtles up to 5 feet long. _________________ Richard

The Hawksbill Turtle is highly sought after for its shell. I have to admit that I might even own a few Turtleshell guitar picks from before they were protected by law. Combs, eyeglasses, Hair Pins, Mirrors and many other items were made using the Hawksbill Turtles shells in the Victorian era. They were mislabeled as being Tortoiseshell, but there is a difference between a turtle and a tortoise.
The turtles that he is getting are not on any endangered species list.
Not illegal to own, but illegal to sell and or transport. _________________ Your life is an occasion...Rise to it
