Only problem I can forsee is judging whether an engine is £100 or less- Mooses Wormar was (I think) £20, but yet it is probably a shade over £100, and what about Wilsons- some are under some over.
Other categories are self explanatory.
One interesting point is that Mamod has only ever won once, yet most of us own at least one.
Some peoples engines are one owner from new in the 1930s.. .. Im sure they were under £100 then |
Atticman, you have to be joking. Is that correct?
With all the great Mamods out there.
As I said earlier I know there are a few nearly mint SR1s and TE1s out there. That could be one of the themes. I have an entry in this category and I know of at least four others. |
Richard- here is a thread of the past winners
http://modelsteam.myfreeforum.org/about7473.html
Only Mamod is MMs SE4
I think the comment that people vote for what they would like to have is probably the main reason, as well as the photo itself which seems to be an important factor.
I Am sourcing an appartment in Monaco for my next entry- has a good seaview balcony, with a marble plinth |

Sorry James,
That's pretty diverse, I would say.
Remember reading that thread too.

Diverse is all a bit funny. Some may think (and it has been said) that my engines are not very diverse because they are all mobiles but..... I have models that span the full 100 years of our hobby and models made by a very diverse set of firms, from all round the world.
That's all part of the fun with our hobby. _________________ Manx, the mobile man |

ANd don't go changing your style of collection Manx, I love it when you post photos especially of the older mobiles.
Diversity is subjective.
Some people may say mine isn't diverse as it's mainly Australian engines but then I would counter that I have 5 different brands of OZ engines which makes up over half of all realistically obtainable OZ engines.
ANd going the other way I could say some members collections aren't diverse as they only have British engines even though they have several brands and span nearly 100 years.
TBH who cares what other people think of your collection as long as your happy with it. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm
