You've made an outstanding contribution to the story and future of toy steam. Congratulations MamodFan! What was the inspiration that moved you to start manufacturing?

Fantastic pictures Ian. The group picture if all those twins is like a scene from a surreal dream!
Can you tell us if you have plans to produce different engines? You had some very nice ones on display at STIA.

Now all of the original Minor 2's I have seen (5) have been different to each other, but the main two differences are the size of the base and the method of making sure the two big ends do not clash. I chose to make a small based cranked engine frame model for the production run. However I felt I needed another variation, just like this real one
So I converted one of my originals to this:
A large based small cranked con rod example
All the variations of the Minor two so far
Back: Large Base
Middle: Original Copy
Front: Production Prototype

After the success of the Reproduction Minor 2 twin I started looking at other engines I could make using standardised parts from the MFTwin.
They were going to be inspired by English engines, notably Mamod and Bowman, sort of engines that Malins should have produced.
Here is the first of four variations,

For those who are not sure of the size of the MFTwin a couple of pics just to show the scale of it.
Seen sitting in front of the New Post War MM2

There was never a Mamod Vertical, perhaps if there had of been it would have looked something like this.

Im sure I heard a tale a while back about a couple who found an original in the insulation in their loft in mint condition. _________________ The Woodrow story

I rather like the way this one came out, a geared horizontal twin.

Your new engines are brilliant.
Are they one off prototypes or do you plan to do a small production run of each or will you make them to order?? _________________ Les - I would give up drinking but I am not a quitter.
