It is a Hornby Stevenson's Rocket.

You have got it in one.
The loco I have is the static version, no boiler, but I have this cunning plan.

I managed to get off e-bay a few years ago a bunch of spare parts for the Rocket including the boiler and piston assemblies.

I have also managed to get the burner, Hornby kindly sent me the instuctions free of charge so all I need now is the gas tank.

It is surprising how small the boiler actually is under the outer cover.

I have never had it running, maybe someone who has the live steam version could answer that.

Just found out they run for about 10 mins maximum.
