Hi All , I think , as a newbie , its appropriate to say a few things here .
Firstly , Wow , what fun this weekend was , in the weeks leading up to this event i hadn`t given it much thought and was busy doing other stuff , so i had zero preparation and it wasn`t till last week i decided to enter but i was working and had no spare time for any trial runs n that . Friday was my first day off work so i eagerly cobbled together a few different setups and learned to do vids and upload them . Unfortunately i had probs with my gas burner and airlocks in my guageglass , but that is what steaming is all about , learning the lessons and rectifying the probs . I also burnt some Esbit and managed to destroy a few spring belts , Driving accessories is not easy , so i learned some lessons there too . This W/E has inspired me to " get it right " so i`ll be placing my order for a new burner and a few bits and pieces that i cant make myself , and get my lathe churning out some pulleys n that . Then i might be able post the "After ' results and have a bit more fun while i`m at it
And i say a hearty Well Done to the organisers and contributors this W/E ......... this steaming buisness takes a lot of time .
Regards , Geoff .
