So the Seekadett is still available for sale...correct? Or are all the sites just advertising something that is no longer available? _________________ Lagniappe readily offered and accepted,

Ahhh-Good news then...I can hope they will keep it in production till I save my pennies for a full kit. That is probably more realistic than waiting for one to happen along..
Plus I can save on the crazy shipping costs...
Of course if any of you would know of a gent with a kit they just can't tackle or get started on- let me know....till then I will be saving !!And trying to polish up the skills needed to complete it!! _________________ Lagniappe readily offered and accepted,

Get in line, Mo.
The cheapest available retail kit is here:
http://www.jotika-ltd.com/Pages/1024768/MHB_2.htm\
M, H & B want 2,100 pounds for theirs.
The builder of Topaz has offered to build it for me, (at a price ) but I'm still looking for someone who has a partial build for sale.
With Topaz sitting beside me at my desk, this is definitely my next most preferred acquisition. _________________ Richard |

Richard - I am sure that in the next 2 years I will build a Seekadett .Plus the relative safety of shipping a kit versus the already built boat is enormous advantage in my eyes. There will be only one ready to go Seekadett on the market in the next year and it is destined for he V.I.
I may build it before the Turbinia just because the kit would be a better step towards honing my "building " skills as the Turbinia would be a scratch model from plans.
That is a boat that you have smitten me with......It cuts through the water like butter _________________ Lagniappe readily offered and accepted,

The deal isn't completely finalized yet, but looks very promising. It'll be four months, at least, however before you see her on the handrail.
If it works out come and visit. Try to avoid February, though, as we're getting pretty booked up that month. _________________ Richard |

Not yet, I'm afraid, Les.
As Miles correctly assumed, it's being built to order. I do, however, expect to receive some high quality pictures of Der Seekadett in the near future. Until now I have been unable to find anything other than small, low res pictures, even on the MH&B website.
The build will also be documented photographically, and should be quite spectacular as several copies are being built together. _________________ Richard |

Ohhh…. Another one for the VI fleet!
No idea what this one looks but I’m sure it will be utterly gorgeous & will have to prepare some suitable emoticones for the occasion!
Looking forward to first reports from the build (goodness, you must be a patient man! )
Hearty congratulations! |

Thanks, Alicia. Patience is a prerequisite for living in the Virgin Islands.
Here are the photos from MH&B's website. I think she's about 8"s longer than Topaz, about 53". Hope to have some better one's shortly.
This is the engine, but not the boiler, that will be going in it. The boiler will be the original MH &B.

Are you going for the same colour scheme as on the website or will it be a custom job?? _________________ Les - Nolo Servile Capistrum

Mmmmm…. that’s beautiful!! A complete & complimentary contrast to Topaz with its rakish lines & yet more superb attention to detail (even if I can’t see a bog roll in loo this time )
It's going to be a long wait to see this marvellous project take form & finally set sail in the turquoise blue waters of VI...... |
