Shouldn't this thread be sticky?
Here's the Bowman identification thread, which contains some useful (I thought!) reference material...

Reference links seems a good idea for us as well as newcomers.
But if we automate too much it cuts down on posting,
something to bear in mind. _________________ -Chuck

Here's a quote from one of MM's posts: | Mamodman123 wrote: |

Just remove the scale from inside in vinegar or something similar! |
I've got brown malt vinegar, distilled white vinegar or balsamic vinegar. Which is best? |
White vinegar could be good! People use it to clean limescale off bathroom tiles and taps etc.
I personally use the stuff that goes on your chips . Just give it a soaking for an hour or 2 and see what happens . It will probably turn pink and will require a bit of brasso after
Let us know how you get on |
It was found in the Mamod Whistles thread, http://modelsteam.myfreeforum.org/about2852.html&highlight=vinegar _________________ -Chuck

Not sure wether my thread about descaling engines would be any good for here unless there is an older thread on the subject?
Also i guess it depends on how often the topic gets brought up. Although i agree that posting too much info might affect the other forums. I think it would be nice to have basic things like what water/fuel/oil to use etc as i know a newcomer would find that info useful if they were just starting out. _________________ "Your nose is before your eyes, so trust it first"

Its a hard one to call this- there are always tips that newblood can bring that others havent thought about. Its probably best to let people ask- we all can learn, no one knows all the answers.
I will put this to the forum team, and thanks for pointing it out _________________ You cant get an engine for that anymore unless you are lucky |
