Heres some interesting news Pat.  This is a reply i got from a VERY respected historian on early toy trains, and i quote.

"Your friend is very lucky. He has the Mark II Bing for Lowke G I North
London Tank Loco introduced in 1909 and sold until c1912. This was
scaled to G II, but only manufactured in G I. According to Ted Leech,
the authority on things like this, 48 were manufactured. Each was
numbered. If you look carefully in the back of the cab (towards the
lower inside left of the cab's backplate) you should find a small
applied disc of tinplate on which its number is stamped, this number
sometimes appears on the frames as well. This one is in very good
condition; one has been ruined (it appears in The Century of Model
Trains), another is a bitsa, and so on... what others there are have
been more or less 'restored'. I only know of one better. I am sure that
we would all be interested to hear what number this one is...if it is 49
Ted will have to reconsider!"

Cheers Sandy

That is great news, maybe they could send you some pictures and measurements and you can get one made.

This is my gauge 1 Bing live steam loco. The burner  is almost certainly very similar if not the same as the one you need Pat.
