Hi, i have seen many engines that are very similar to Empire engines, here is an example

http://cgi.ebay.com/Steam-Engine-...faultDomain_0?hash=item45ef055efc

It is an unmistakable clone of an Empire B-30, but a different brand, and i think there made in the same place that Marvin engines were made, these are also made in a different place than Empire engines. So were these sub brands owned by empire, or brands simply copying the design?

UK members may be interested to hear that Empire engines were sold here under the Hotpoint brand name, wired for 240v.

Empco Metal Ware Corp.

The Bing Corporation

Quality Brand Great Northern Mfg.

Chicago Apparatus Co.

Empire Transformer Co.
