I hadn't seen the first design before, my one is No.2, which looks to be a cheaper/simpler design.

An interesting comparison . The first looks to be well balanced and would be a sweet runner for high speed work .

A green cylinder head cover is also indicative of the two variations.

To hawk-eyed MILES,
I hadn't noticed that because I was concentrated on the crankshafts.
I should put all green Saitos  that I have on a row and detect the differences which I did not notice before.
I look at them one at a time not to incur in the Stendhal syndrome
