You would have to knock me out first to get me into a submerged tunnel!

I grew up in Holland, and when I was 18 I got called up for national service. Had great fun doing all the tests, and I was the only one to get 100% on the morse code, so the signalling guy REALLY wanted me in....but I'd had a motorbike crash a few months before, spent 3 weeks in ICU, so I failed the medical.....doctor took one look at the scars on my legs and sent me packing. Just as well, I don't think I'd have enjoyed myself somehow

i'm not a lover of (dirty) water, but when you get that far round the course the adrenalin kicks in & you just want to do it. I think some of the smartie tubes are just as bad, which you encounter about 1/2 way round ( 600mm dia, very dark, part full of water & about 80 metres long).

Brrrr...I thought Chirk tunnel was bad enough, and that's big enough for a narrowboat!
