I used rubbing alcohol, for cuts, works just as well, i also used this sort of clear coat rust protection for metal, burns twice as good as wood alcohol!!!

I wouldn't suggest rubbing Meths into cuts

Esbit = solid fuel. awful stuff! smells bad! very bad infact!

The early stuff kills budgies

Thats why i converted all my esbit engines to run on alcohol, dosen't stink as bad! Well, when it's rubbing alcohol, it disinfects the cuts.

Esbit is just a brand name.
Like in the UK a vacume cleaner is nearly always called a 'Hoover' even if its not made by Hoover.
