Great vid Tony, great engine - when you bringing it over to STIA??

Not allowed to run it are you?

Boiler pressure? It doesn't need a cert does it?

Before we went to STIA Fred said he doesn't want any of those Roundhouse locos etc as they aren't toy steam

OH, I though it was a H&S thing!

It might be! Boiler pressure/operating pressure might be too high!

Titan told us that his loco was pushing these locos up a hill on a meet somewhere. They had about 20 rolling stock and he asked if Titan could push them up at the back. These Lady Annes etc were slipping and struggling around and Titan was pretty much pushing everything up the hill

That would take 3 1/2kg of precious luggage weight on the plane which I need for brining steam toys back to OZ.

It has a boiler cert and a cert for the butane tank.
Safety valve blows at 40 PSI whilest modded Mamods blow at 20PSI so twice the pressure but not outrageous.
The Guage one project loco blows at 60 PSI.
I will agree they are not toys but models but if STIA is all about showing people what fun they can have with steam I dont understand why they should be excluded because on that basis he would have to exclude the huge Bings and the collectors Jensen engines aswell.

They could be in a different section called steam models though to make it clear they have moved out of toys into serious dollars / pounds.

Don't shoot the messenger Tony I'm only repeating what Fred told us .

40 PSI is quite a lot but as you said not outragous as I guess the boilers are tested to well over 150? I know mamods are tested to 100 PSI. Less to go wrong aswell!

I saw a few bigger locos but they weren't in steam

Tony

Just 1 thing I noticed watching your video. Sorry to sound like Im telling you how to use your loco but try and stick to using direction 1st then open the regulator and close the regulator before changing direction or puting the loco in neutral. My Merlin has sliped the valve timing a few times when my Grandfarther 1st had it from opening the regulator before puting the loco into gear.

Thats fine Steve.
You are right.
I realised I should run it like you say after I had finished that test run.
Still getting used to the idea that the left / right stick on the RC is for forward and reverse, just feels odd after having several RC cars in the past.

Turn the RC 90 degrees

Finally a vid! How cool to have a throttle on it. Seems quite powerful, Tony.
Looking forward to vid of it running on track, maybe pulling some cars, too.
Well done, mate!

Yes I think I've turned into a loco man which means in my usual style the thing I like most is the most expensive items.
For once I would like to want the cheap items not the expensive ones.
Need my Bowman 234s to arrive so I can get them going as the only way I'm going to be allowed to buy any more locos is by selling other things. I was told last night I'm not allowed to buy any more locos that cost as much as Lady Anne.

I still want a dribbler loco but only if I can fire it, dont want one to just look pretty on my shelf.
