I have changed the drive from an elastic band to a chain, which has improved things considerably.

Definite improvement there Chris! I shall have to rebuild my K'Nex Ferris Wheel (which is a metre high!) and see if I can get it to work with steam

Well done and the speed of the ferris wheel seems about right too.

Ive got everything I need to make a steam driven meccano toy, going to have to get around to doing it one day.........

Im thinking about a rolling road for my mobiles, Roly got me thinking about one - so mines going to be adjustable to take a TE, SR or SW1.
