Graphics is 'drawing' thinks like perpective views along streets etc... 3d stuff too!

Art is painting crappy pictures

Ill have to take issue with that MM - its not.

Your graphics sounds like my Technical Drawing . . .

I loved both these topics at school. The ability to sketch an idea or produce a well though out emgineering drawing is a very desireable skill. I still use techniques I learnt in TD and art in my steam illustrations today.

Didn't mean it like that Mike, I meant that you think you can paint a really good picture and it always ends up like a piece of crap Not that art is crap!

OK - MM Ill believe you!

Im a bif fan of Pre-Raphaelite art as well as some impressionist works, I rather like pop art and some abstract painters too.

My favourite painters are John William Waterhouse and Atkinson Grimshaw. Art lesson over!

Wow, sounds like the schools are getting all politically correct nowdays.

Even 13 yr ago when I finished it was simple.

All under one department (Industrial Design and Technology)
Woodwork
Metal Work
Technical Drawing
Plans and building
Engineering Science
Toys and Hobbies

Food Technology/Textiles and designCooking
Sewing
and god knows what else in that building

ArtsPhotography
Ceramics
Art

That was about it. We were forced to do one from each department for 6months each.
After that you could do 2 of what you like for a total of 2yrs, then after that you did another 2 yrs of up to 2 of them in your final years

Interesting to see "Toys and Hobbies" in the list
